Instructor Interest (Please fill out before December 8th)
It's almost time for... our 2024 BMC Forest service permit!
To do so, we need a general list of instructors that will plan to help with the course.
This is also our first baseline for all instructor schedules, and we will base our initial schedule for instructors on this survey.
Please review your calendar and complete the following short survey (estimated up to 15 minutes) to provide us with the information we need to be able to submit the forest service permit and begin scheduling.
Instructor Survey (DUE DECEMBER 8TH)
Important Notes:
-If you are not sure about your schedule yet, please still complete the survey if you are interested in helping out (we use this for the instructor emergency roster) and note your schedules in the final notes section.
-Please fill out ALL dates that you would be available to support the course. The Co-coordinators will do our best to spread out dates for each person so that no one is signed up for everything (unless they want to), but it is best to all options to make this happen.
- If you are new to this process (recent BMC grad) please fill out this survey as best you can. We welcome you to join as an Assistant Instructor for any class that you feel like you would like more review on. You can also mark yourself as a "Lead Climber" or "Lead" for an outing if you feel comfortable leading an entire outing (such as the Fitness hike).
Registration and marketing for the BMC will be just around the corner and we hope to have this year be just as good as last year!
Wilderness First Aid Class Interest (Headcount due January 15th)
SAC's annual Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification training is going to be offered March 2nd-3rd, 2024 at Larrabee State Park. It is through Backcountry Medical Guides and the course will be subsidized by SAC so it will be offered at $150/person (originally $300!). Taking the WFA will help the BMC have enough Safety Instructors and also help you be a prepared friend and partner on all of your adventures. Please let Vic know at 412-328-6374 if you are interested or have any questions. We need to confirm our headcount for BMG by January 15th to secure this private course.
