January 2024 Newsletter

BMC Updates:

Wednesday, January 3rd – 7:00pm-8:00pm (TOMORROW):

If you have been interested in taking the Basic Mountaineering Course in 2024 but want to learn more about the time commitments, schedule, curriculum, and meet some of the instructors, we invite you to join us for a brief info session. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If you won’t be able to make it in person, we welcome you to join via zoom.

Last Call for Instructor Sign Ups:


If you are interested in volunteering for one or many of the BMC weekends this year as an instructor, please fill out this google form by this weekend. Our first meeting for instructors will be around the end of January. More to come!


January Meeting:

Wednesday, January 10th – 7:00pm-9:00pm

We invite everyone to come join for a fabulous gathering to celebrate the New Year and celebrate some incredible recent accomplishments from some of our club members. Feel free to bring a snack or two to share as always!

Ski Weekend Updates:


Weekend: February 23-25 (Friday night through Sunday morning)

- Friday dinner at Chair 9 at 6:30pm, cost of pizzas covered by SAC.

- Potluck dinner at 6pm Saturday night at the lodge. SAC members welcome to join for dinner even if not staying the night.

- Check out Sunday morning by 11am.

Reservations:

- 12 rooms available for reservation. There is still availability to reserve for 9 rooms.

- Must have active membership paid for 2024.

Cost:


- $175 per room for the whole weekend if you pay online. (Email Holly for payment link at holly.lynn26@gmail.com )


Club Membership Updates:


  • As a reminder, our club states that an “active" membership to Skagit Alpine Club costs $35 per family and is renewed at the beginning of each calendar year. Don’t forget to renew your membership this month to get access to club events throughout 2024 such as the upcoming ski weekend!



  • Remember, we love featuring our club members in our newsletters. Feel free to share a story or report of your recent adventures to share with the club!
